Dear Kyle community,

My name is Robert Rizo, and I am a 5th-generation Kyle resident and former Council Member. I’ve raised my family here, and there is no other city in the world I would rather call my forever home.

You may know me from my time on Kyle City Council, where I served from 2019-2025. During that time, I worked side-by-side with residents, city staff, and community leaders to help make Kyle a better place to live and raise a family.

My service to Kyle extends well beyond City Council. I spent 10 years teaching at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, coached youth sports, and you may have seen me driving my ’41 Chevy in local parades or lending it to Saint John’s Homecoming Queen candidates. I serve on the board of the Hays County Food Bank and the Hays County Historical Commission and chair of the Regional Clean Air Coalition (CAPCOG). For more than 20 years, I have also provided scholarships to graduating seniors through the Knights of Columbus. Altogether, I have more than 30 years of service to the Kyle community.

I believe Kyle’s future needs leadership that understands where we’ve been and knows how to move us forward. My experience on City Council gave me firsthand knowledge of our city departments, infrastructure projects, public safety needs, and the challenges that come with rapid growth.

During my time on council, I helped lead the creation of the new Public Safety Center, which opened in 2023 and houses our police department, emergency management dispatch, and mental health services. I also helped create several new parks, including Mary Kyle Hartson, Heroes Memorial Park, and La Verde Park, and helped usher in the 2022 Road Bond to bring much-needed road infrastructure to Kyle, particularly east of I-35.

As Mayor, I will work to keep Kyle an affordable place to buy a home and raise a family while continuing to invest in public safety, road infrastructure, parks, and opportunities for families and our children. As Kyle grows, we must grow wisely and make sure our infrastructure keeps pace. I also want to revitalize our historic downtown and strengthen the identity and character that make Kyle our home.

I ask for your support this November. If I haven’t seen you on the campaign trail yet, I hope to see you soon. Thank you!
